WW: afternoon baseball in the back yard

Not our backyard...and a few weeks ago when the weather was fabulous!

The beyblade statium in the back ground and Luke wearing his new batting helmet...
ya'll know how much those wiffle balls hurt!

Kenzie got to play

and Merrit just took the ball and ran!
fun times!

Wix birthday

We attended a really fun birthday party at Wix in Scotts Valley

The boys got to make 2 different candles...and then went to pizza.

It was really fun to pick out the candle wax, colors and smells.

We got to take one home with us then and the big ones came later..
Our house smells crazy right now...mint and strawberry!

Go Rangers!

And crazy present fun!
Now Jack wants to have a wix birthday party too!

Winter at last!

Okay...so it is the middle of March...we knew it would have to come to an end.
Winter has finally arrived in Santa Cruz - especially the SC mountains.
I think we got 10 inches in this past storm!

While Lukes tball game was canceled...we went to check out the mighty San Lorenzo River!
It was a roaring!

I have no idea what goes on by this waterfall...looks like it is making power or something!

It was quite a wet walk to get there!

Glad I had my rain boots!
Love my new boots...I bought them last summer, and this has been my first chance to wear them!

And...now on to soccer

Luke was all rained out this weekend (rightfully so).

But soccer does not seem to care so much about the rain...
and rain it did all the way up till practice.

Thankfully it did not rain at practice, however it was freaking cold !
Even more then freaking cold, but I am not sure how cold that it, my hands were too numb!

Jack had fun and scored some goals...but they do not keep track.

Jack is one of the oldest kids as most are 4 and 5... he has a pesky birthday that makes him one of the older ones.  I learned today that I know nothing about soccer.  I guess I'll be learning more if he keeps wanting to play.  He did do really good, even if they do not keep score#

Did I mention how COLD it was....
Guess I need hand warmers for watching kid's sports.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Luke would like to say "Happy St Paddy's day"
He is bummed that his Ranger game got rained out!

But happy to watch his daddy play xbox...with the green remote!

Luke's 1st hit in his 1st game

I promise that I will not be providing such detailed analysis for all of Luke's games...
but this was his first hit in his first game!  And he nailed it!

Of course, they are hitting off of a tee...so it isn't too challenging, but he did hit it hard!

The first time on base was a new experience and he decided to run around the grass line instead!
It was pretty funny, and now he know where the bases are.

Petey gave him a hard time on 3rd base with his batting helmet!

And he did score...crazy running and all!

All sports all the time

These are from 2 weeks ago...while my dad didn't make it to fishing...he did come with us to Jack London Square farmers market.

Anyone who knows me, know that I am a farmers market junkie!
And this market has some great and unusual stuff.
My dad actually tasted the quinoa sushi (i loved it) and the look on his face was priceless...
My dad is not a fan of sushi.

This market also has lots of open space for everyone to play.

So the boys had time for soccer and 2 square!

Fun was had by all!

Opening day little league

We had an insanely busy day yesterday, and it was even more of a bummer that it was day light savings so that we lost an hour of sleep on our super hectic day.

We got to attend "opening day" for little league...and they do take them selves very seriously.
We arrived early for pictures.

Luke is the smallest player on the team, but I think one of the best players on his team!
(yes, I know, I am biased!)

After the pix, we had to listen to a lot of pomp and circumstance with old players...volunteers...
It was very loud and Luke (and all the teams) had to stand in a dirt field while all these big wigs yammered on...

We did run into Jack's best friend, Petey!

Luke is once again freaked out by Gigante...and did not go for a high five as he said he would!
It was loud, long and hot...I am really glad that Luke didn't cry, because he was a bit freaked out.
And, luckily I had Angry Birds to keep Jack entertained...I was wishing I had 2 phones so that I could play too!

Go Rangers!  First game is tomorrow night!
After opening day, we headed out to Owen's birthday party and then a nice night at
Auntie Kate and Uncle Bill's!
