WW: Civil War reenactment

Every Memorial weekend is the same thing...
Civil War Reenactment at Roaring Camp.

It is very loud!
The first year I lived here I was a little freaked by the noise, till someone told me what was going on.
Twice a day all weekend - bang, bang bang.

Wonder where Jack gets that hands behind the back thing...
Now we know!

Bounce house fun

Luke went down the GIANT slide that Jack would not go down...
Once Luke went down and the line rose to like 50...then he wanted to go down and I refused to wait that long!

But he did get to play ball!

Happy Memorial Day!

On Saturday, we walked down to the annual Felton Remembers parade.

It is lots of fun and there are a lot of characters.

And, of course, lots and lots of candy!
Only parade I know where the participants pelt the crowd with candy!
Good times and we are now stocked up on lolly pops for after dinner dessert.

Im back

Well that blogging break was a little longer then I had anticipated.
Santa Barbara was a good trip and Jack was much better this time and didn't cry!

Here we are at the Cabrillo farmers market enjoying the first cherries of the season!
Yeah, summer must be on its way, right?!

Of course it did rain on our Memorial Day bbq.

Of course, every farmers market visit is not complete with out hearing the Great Morgoni.
The Great Morgani
And eating clams and oysters...but I forgot to take a pix of that!

Au revoir

Good bye for now...
I am headed down to Santa Barbara for an International Specialist meeting.
International Specialist just cracks me up....I am far from one,
but as my boss is retiring I'm gonna have to catch up quick.
Anyway, I'm going to be in meetings with no Internet till Wednesday night.

Hoping Jack does better then last time I was gone and he made himself sick and quit eating...

Jack and the glove

Boys love baseball and are learning how to play with gloves and all.

Jack with his tongue out to catch a tiny ball!
(Yes, someday he will chomp it bad!)
Thankfully, Jack has had a haircut since these pix so his "wings" are gone!

fashion plate...

Last year it was all about the rain boots and this year it is flip flops.
And sunglasses...
He is also partial to the orange shirt and red sweats combo...ugh.
Wonder how he is going to dress when he is 16?

WW: My little baker

Luke is such a "helper" in the kitchen and thankfully he is actually starting to be helpful, sort of.
We made peperoni puffs (with low fat salami) and they were really good and easy.
Of course I forgot to take a pix of the final, cooked puffs.
And, needless to say, we all loved them!

Rainy day hopscotch

Gotta love painters tape!
We had a cold and rainy day today all stuck in the house.

It was a loooong day.
I tried to keep them as active as I could.
a few obstacle courses, hopscotch, a fort and wii!

Tree Climbing

And, after a good car hunt, it is time for some tree climbing!

It is nice to see that the boys can play together - alone - for a little while before the fighting begins!

Of course they did argue about who would climb the tree first...

WW: car hunt

This is like the boys favorite activity...hunting for hidden stuff.
That and i spy, but this will keep them entertained for quite some time (score!).

Bat Luke

We went to a birthday party over the weekend and Luke had his face painted for the first time.
At first he wanted a butterfly, but I thought he might like batman.
Stereotypes...I know.

The face painter was so patient and did all the kids (except Jack) who mainly where girls.
She was awesome!
Which is why Luke wanted the butterfly.

Luke sat next to the birthday girl in hopes that he could blow out the candles.
I didn't work. Her older brother did it!
