Jack (finally) made his first trip to the Dentist and Poppy would be proud.

Loren took him and said that he was petrified but a trooper. Loren said that he
did everything the dentist and hyginest asked him to do and would probably
jumped off a cliff if they has asked.

Jack was very excited about the sticker he got.

When I was a kid I remember getting to dig thru a big drawer full of "treasures" at the dentist office with rings, erasers, stickers, cars...it was fun!

Bob the builder

Is this not the coolest pillow ever if you are a Bob fan.
Our house is a big Bob the builder follower.
Most mornings are met with the question "watch Bob?"
It is way up there with race Cars.
My Mother in Laws friend, Linda, made this pillow and we just love it.
All the fabric goes so well together and Jack gets to put his head
on his beloved Bob and Muck. If you notice the border you can see all of Bobs friends roaming around.

Sledding

While we braved the mighty storm of 2009, hiking up the big hills, trudging through the steep snowdrifts and then sledding down the golf course at holes 12 and 13, Uncle Bill always on the look out for a bigger and better hill.

Jack did pretty well, but tended to want to be carried thru the 2 feet of snow.

Snow as far as the eye can see.

We came home to find Luke and Auntie Kate..........................

having sweet dreams out of the cold.

Vacation over

It was not supposed to snow last night. It was supposed to rain, just rain.
When we went to sleep last night there was no snow. The picnic table on the deck
was snow free. Yikes, we woke up to a winter wonderland without 4 wheel drive.
I thought it was scary, but Loren thought driving over 17 in the pouring rain with
lots of other cars was scarier...

On our trip home we stopped in Angels Camp to get some lunch for the boys
and have a car picnic. We went to Burger King (yuck) to get Jack a hamburger.
BURGER king, right...we'll after a long time ordering from the drive thu the worker guy
says that the broiler is down and we couldnt have hamburgers...No hamburgers at burger king.
Crazy! We left with no food...

Happy Valentines Day

.
Jack and Luke helped make these heart flowers for Valentines Day. We gave them to Nonna.
I found the idea from No Time for Flash Cards which is a great blog with ideas for activities for little kids. http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/2009/02/bunches-of-love.html
Hopefully, we will be on the road heading to the snow tomorrow if everything goes as planned and I wont get to post a Happy V day!

trunk back in business

Have I mentioned lately how awesome my husband is?!

You know how I mentioned that my car trunk would not open...well he went inside the trunk via the back seat and took thinks apart and found the problem. He then found the part only at the volkswagon dealership (of course) and fixed my trunk. It was such a hassle having to put all the extra car seats on my front seat when I took to boys to my FIL's and I could not take a strollar anywhere limiting the "fun" places to take the boys. I am so stoked to have my trunk back and to have such a handy guy that can fix all my broken things.

As Jack would say "Daddy a good guy"!

Potty time

We have been trying to potty train Jack for months...
many months... major power struggle.
He will go pee in the potty at night time, after his bath, but this is it.
We constantly are asking him if he wants to use the potty and his answer is a very firm "NO"
He says "me no like potty" and will go forever in a dirty diaper and it doesnt bug him...
If he wanted to he could as he gets it and knows when he is gonna pee. We have been forcing the issue and he seems to do pretty good at my moms house, but he is getting worse for us. No matter how many potty dances I do and try to bribe him with chocolate...We are probably going to have to back off the training for a little while and hope that he takes an interest in it. I'd hate to be changing his diapers in 3rd grade!

Luke on the other hand....has already pooped twice! He didnt mean to but he did. He loves the potty! Which does make it a little hard to leave it out for Jack to use.

More cars

Today I was picking up some of the 8 thousand toys that we have so that I could vacuum...
I am amazed at the amount of cars, trucks and tractors we have.
It is like they multiply at night and move around the room.
I can put them all away, leave the room, come back in and find 4 more where I just cleaned.
They are even all over the walls...
Jack tells them that he loves them before he goes to sleep.

The boys just LOVE them! I wonder if it is the same with girls...
Why is it that boys love them so much and girls like dolls?
I don't think I played with cars when I was a kid and really they are pretty fun.
The boys scoot along on the floor with the cars making lots of car noises.

And, trucks are so fun to fill up with legos and transport them to other rooms in the house.

Simple things

It wonderful how kids can be amused by the simplest things.
Luke had a blast with this old fold up chair.

He climbed it and then rattled the picture on the wall.

Then, he thought it would be a great idea to get stuck getting off the chair.

Then, it was time to bang on the chair after I folded it up so that Luke would not break his neck falling off. He laughed hysterically while he banged on the chair and liked it even better when I banged with him with my rings...It was very, very loud.

And lastly, Luke had to try to climb up the chair cuz that is what he does...

feeling better

The poor cat....in the middle of wrestle mania. Notice the cool Giants/49er blanket and quilt plus comforter in the background. Jack likes to be warm.

Luke is winning!

Who me? I didnt do it!

Luke thinks that life is good....so long as he has his pacifier.

The boys are finally feeling better with just a lingering loud cough. The energy level is up to normal and we constantly have to keep an eye on Luke or he will climb up to the roof. I swear this kid will be a rock climber. I have pix that I will post to prove it, but they are on my home computer not my work computer!

We are finally getting some much needed rain which means that my left front turn signal on my car will not work....It only works when it is very dry for awhile...gotta love Volkswagen's... Oh yeah, and my trunk is stuck closed with a stroller and my grocery bags in it which makes it hard to use less plastic. Loren can not get it open and if he can't do it it will never open again! Never ever buy a Volkswagen!

Still sick

It is so hard to see my (our) children so out of it and sick. It really feels helpless as there is nothing we can do but wait it out and love them. Jack is back to normal, except for the loud seal cough. Tomorrow he is going to school whether he likes it or not. I can not take another day of watching CARS...and he really is fine. Poor Luke on the other hand has a fever and it just lifeless. It comes in spurts. Friday was bad, Saturday good and superbowl Sunday bad. Today is a bit of both. He is still pretty much glued to me, but you can just tell that he wants to feel better and play again. I did find him up on a few chairs today so I am hoping the worst is over. I wish there was something I could do to make him feel better!

On a side note, the super bowl and commercials were really good this year. We had lots of yummy food and the game was not a blow out. I was the only one in the room who cheered on Pittsburgh...so I was happy they won.
