More rain

This is the San Lorenzo River...it is usually 2 to 4 feet high.

Not anymore! It swelled up to 20 feet! Big trees go down the river and out to sea!

We (along with a whole lot of other people) went to check the river out. Luke wasn't so excited about it...

Thankfully, to day is beautiful and no rain in the forecast for 7 days!!!

Rain, rain go away

I am sooooooooooooooo over the rain.
It is impossible to keep these boys couped up in the house all day,
but they can not go in the back yard.
It is a swamp!

Standing water everywhere and it just keeps coming!

We went to Costco today and it was crazy how many mud slides and downed trees we saw.
Highway 17 and 9 are closed and a small fence was holding up a mud slide on Graham Hill.

Actually it was scary and we came back home after Costco instead of running more errands.

Cheerio bird feeders

I found this idea on a blog.
http://www.preschoolplaybook.com/2011/02/feeding-birds.html

It was actually a lot of fun and the boys really got into it....that and eating cheerios.
We went with the plain cheerios rather then fatten up the birds with honey nut cheerios!

Luke likes them anyway he can get them!
Then we tied them up in the trees for the birds to nibble on.
We watched for awhile, but no birds...
I think next time I will need to find a more visible tree to hang them in.

ww:what a difference a year makes

I have nothing current to put up at this moment so we are doing a flash back to March 2010.
Last year was a much better year then this year...The Fontinell Family are taking a lot of punches this year...
but last year was good. Jack learning how to ride a 2 wheeler with no training wheels.

Luke recovering from pneumonia

Boys are way blond....
now they are headed towards brown.
Jack worked on his baseball game

Worker bees

A neighbor had his tree cut down and left the wood with a sign saying "free wood".
The boys are besides themselves with all the "working" they can do now.
The rake Luke is going so fast that it is just a blur with him smacking the wood.

They pretend that it is a rocket ship and they drive it to the moon...then get on their bikes to do a few laps then back to the space ship!

Pretty and pretty dirty

Yesterday we got to get all dressed up and go to a swanky event honoring the teachers of the year for the cupertino school district.
It was my husbands lucky year so we headed out to the Fairmont Hotel for food, fun, and dancing.
We picked the boys up that night from my moms and headed back to our house...in the POURING rain.
The ride over 17 was scary and at some points we could hardly see...
and now the back yard is the worst swamp that I have ever seen.

So we go from dressed up to messed up in 24 hours.

Luke's pants are actually gray, but you wouldn't know it from the pix.
They dug deep water holes and slung mud everywhere.
Luke like to sit in it.

Shortly after this picture it was straight into the bathtub.
I so wish it would STOP raining!

Luke and the bike

I posted a lot when Jack learned to ride a bike...and Luke not so much.
Second child syndrome...

Luke is amazing on a bike and last week he took off the training wheels.

At 3.5 years old he can now ride a 2 wheeler with no training wheels.
People stop and watch him in amazement that such a little guy can be riding a bike.
And it is pretty incredible for such a young guy.
He can only make left turns...

He is one determined kid...who must to everything his brother can do.

Bye Luke!

WW: Rainy day puzzle

Jack is quite the puzzle doer!
And he is very proud of it...always calls for help, but tends to do them himself.
He is now requesting harder puzzles.
J
Jack always wants me to take a pix of his puzzle...
this time he wanted to take the pix so he took the above picture.

And not to be out done...Luke had to take a pix too...
he was furious that Jack stood on the puzzle with his beloved batman slippers.

Swinging

Finally Luke has learned how to do the blue swing thing himself!
Yeah, I dont have to push him anymore!
He'll be regualr swinging in no time.

Jack can actually do the monkey bars that are on the top of this play structure!
He is a little monkey!
Luke can not, but he really, really wants to.

We had a nice weekend out in the yard till the rain came...
We had my FIL and his GF for dinner on Saturday (for his b'day)
and went to my Aunt and Uncles for a yummy dinner on Sunday.
Love family!
(wish a few more of you were closer!!)

busy boys at work

Luke moving things with his forklift that he got from the Pacifairy!
(the Pacifairy comes when you turn 2.5 years old and takes way all of your pacifiers and leaves you a present!)
Notice that he is moving around his leapster that he got for xmas...
I told him many times not to do it because he is going to break it, but he is not one to listen.

Jack is  playing in the living room fort...
my house is always messy...
