Rock on

This was a very LOUD afternoon in our house.

I was trying to cook dinner and Luke needed a diversion from "pick me up"
I swear the kid is going to be a chef cuz he loves me to hold him so that he can see
everything going on on the stove top.
So we brought out the pots and wooden spoon....bad idea.
I never new it would be soooooo loud!!
And Luke loved it.

He chewed on the spoon and banged his little heart out...till we couldn't take it anymore.

Then Jack had to have his turn....I wish we had ear plugs!

Santa Cruz in June

Notice the fog.... today was cold at the beach.
Even at 11:30 when we headed to Costco it was still socked in.

We found these great big sand holes that the boys loved.

This is Jacks "what are you crazy...I'm not going even near the water" face.

While Jack is still petrified of the ocean - he says that he is afraid of sharks -
Luke has no problem playing in the waves...infact is was hard to drag him out of the water.
Luckily, we had the giant sand hole that he liked to lure him out.
Unfortunately, Luke remembered that he likes to eat sand, big giant mouthfuls...not looking forward to the diapers...

June recap

I cant believe that June is almost over and I really havent taken any pictures! Not that we haven't had any photo oportunities!

L is off for the summer and it has been really nice having him home! We went to the beach one day and the park the next. We road the little train at Vasona, I got to visit my grandma and go to the dentist. I even make it one day to the gym! (I havent been to the gym since I was 7 months prego with Jack) We had a nice fathers day up at my dad's house. My little bro took us out for a big fathers day breakfast at my fave breakfast place in Castro Valley, JD's. They have this ice cream/orange juice milk shake thing that is humongous and yummy. One fed the 9 of us ! Jack LOVED it! We did even more park time up my dads at the now ex water park thanks to water rationing... We are trying to get ready for our family road trip to Spokane, the garlic festival, a birthday bash for a dear friend at our house (if my hubby ever gets out the evite!) and then our anniversary (not sure what we are doing yet) with out kids!

Monnie is still with us and luckly I will get to visit her a bit more often in the next few weeks.

Jumpity jump

This is a picture from May, cuz apparently I have not taken so many for June...
this is one of the boys favorite things to do when it is cold outside and they are stuck inside for the morning.
They pull all of the cushions on the carpet and jump away.
They always try to jump on the couch, but it is very springy and hard so they end up getting hurt.
However the cushions are fun and Luke is learning how to jump now (tho he isnt doing too well in the picture.)

Catch up

I feel like I can not keep up with anything these days...this blog is one of the many things that I feel like im lagging on. So many things to think about with budget cuts, potential job reductions, trip to plan for and my grandmother is dying.... She is 92 and had a stellar life, but it still hurts my heart. She has been such a major part of my life for the first 37 years...I havent been able to see her as much now that I have a family and live farther away... I saw her today for the first time in a few months. She is in a lot of pain. I held her hand and tried to warm her up. She has a month to live at the most and hopefully they will be able to give her more pain meds soon. Tho I think pain meds make her a bit delusional... Anyway, I dont want her to be in so much pain and the whole thing is just sad, but she will be in a better place soon. I am lucky to have had her in my life for as long as I have.

Wordless Wednesday - fearless

This kid is the most fearless boy in the world. Unless it is related to the "squirrels" in the attic or clothes in his closet.
Go figure

Walk with grandma

I have said many times how nice it is to live next to a State Park.
When grandma came to visit we took her for a walk around the redwood loop.

Grandma got to push a volatile Luke. He was a little moody till we got to the park.

The wild flowers were still blooming and it was very beautiful.

Luke made a great tour guide showing Grandma all the neat tree sights.

Jack vs cake

I know I have not written in awhile. Unintentional blogging break.
We have been really busy with fun company (grandma honey)
and the boys are really, really acting out...
Anyway, last week was Lorens birthday and here is
Jack with some cake...think he likes it?!
