Boo!

The boys love to play peek a boo, especially Luke.
They also like to play plain old "BOO" at you.
So here they are giving you a Friday before Halloween scare!

They made the masks at my mom's house! She is so creative!
They do look a little concerned in the last picture...maybe they got scared too.

Sunday in the park

We haven't gone for a walk in the park lately...im not sure why we haven't,
so we headed over on Sunday

It was cold in the forest!
It is nice to get the boys out to run, run, run.
They love to find the numbers on the redwood loop.

We even encountered a banana slug on the path and the boys loved touching it
(if we had girls, I bet anything that they wouldn't want to touch the banana slug)

And sticks...boys have quite the fascination with sticks.
It is not a good walk if they don't come home with out a stick.

Wordless Wednesday - pumpkin style

What are the boys looking at.....

Hello pumpkin!

these boots were made for walking

OMG, I can not get this song out of my head!
"These boots were make for walking, thats just what i'll do, one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you"
This is the only line I know of the song, but it just keeps repeating in my head!
Anyway, Jack got his new rain boots in the mail and is trying them on (and waiting for rain puddles)

Luke had to try them on too.

Airport food

After our pumpkin patch excursion, we went out to lunch.
I had heard that the Watsonville airport has a restaurant near it
and thought it would be fun for the boys to see the planes as they ate lunch.

They loved it!

Lots of airplanes roaming around and some taking off and landing.
The restaurant, Zuniga's, however sucked.
It was probably the worst Mexican food that I have ever eaten..

Next time we will have to take a picnic.

Jack vs pirate

Jack was surprisingly not very scared of the "pirate"
He poked him with a stick.

And then he walked away.
Halloween sure is scary...

Never really realized that before till I had a scaredy kid.

Not too scared to pull out a coffin... tho he really didnt know what it was.

great day to look for the Great Pumpkin

We took a field trip out to
Crystal Bay Farms in La Selva Beach

It is a small place, but very cool
and perfect for our pumpkin picking experience.

The boys had a great time looking at all the "pirates" (what we would call ghouls and ghosts)

Look found a goblin in amongst the pumpkins.

Nice day for a wheel barrow ride

Today Jack and Luke got a wheel barrow ride at the pumpkin patch!

I learned that wheel barrows are dirty.

But the boys had fun...and it is all about the boys.

I also learned that it is wheel barrow and not wheel barrel as I previously thought!

still climbing...

This kid is seriously going to be either the death or me, or of himself.
No mountain is too small or scary for him to climb.

We were at a friends house and her son has a bunk bed.
I caught Luke in the nick of time heading up the ladder...
This is his second go of it as I spotted him on his first try at the ladder.

He went all the way up to the top and then wanted to jump on the bed (giving me yet another heart attack)
It is a long way down and a short way to bump his head on the ceiling while jumping...

He is very proud of himself for climbing the ladder and making it to the bed.
He is going to be thrilled when we get the boys bunk bed put together (luckily, it is going to take awhile to finish painting the bed and buying a mattress).
Luke is not ready for his own 24/7 bunk bed, even if he is going to be getting the bottom bunk.

Cookie party

They boys and I went to a Halloween cookie decorating party yesterday.
My friend Lori, who I never see often enough, had a few kids over to eat sugar and raise mayhem!

It was a lot of fun and the boys really liked it....
so much so that i had to literally drag them out of there when it was time to go.
Cookies and Ryan has a TON of very cool toys.

Luke not quite believing that he gets to decorated with candy and eat a whole cookie before lunch.
By the end of the eating his face was covered in orange frosting...frosting is my favorite part too.

They also got to play with the skateboards. I'd say that right now that is their favorite thing in the whole world.
Luke used the big one and Jack used a little one.
They were in skateboard haven.
Did I mention that I had a hard time getting them out of the house to come home!

On the road

Luke learned how to ride his tricycle all by himself this weekend!
He is getting to be such a big boy...where has my baby gone.

It is great cuz pushing him around the block was not much fun since he didnt know how to steer.
Steering is very important!

Now he is a pro and we are going to have to take that handle off of his bike.

Happy trails!
