And...now back to soccer

Jack "aged up" to the under 8 group this fall.

Now he is in the big time with kids who actually know how to play soccer (well, sort of know how to play)
still a bit of a jumble of kids chasing a ball

His coach Todd is trying to get them to learn how to pass the ball to get it down the field and in the goal.

Now they have 2 practices a week and games usually on Saturday (tho this week it is Saturday and Sunday)

I am officially a soccer mom!

And while Jack plays soccer...Luke must play baseball...
He is not a kid that is content watching his brother play a game, he must always be moving!

WW: summer day with an old friend

We had a fun visit from an old friend "girl Lauren" (not to be confused with Loren...)
and her beautiful girl Sequoia.

They have been visiting from NY once a year or so since we both had kids
and it is so cute to see our kids playing together!
Wish we all lived closer, Lauren!!

Last of Lukes b'day pix

Here he is with his birthday crown awaiting the presents...

And presents he got!

with much of a star wars theme.

He got lots of legos....to bad for him that he doesn't have the patience to put them together.
It is Jacks lucky day though so he can put them together!

before the batting!

If you look very closly, Jack is holding a lego darth vader on top of the pinata...

Here is Darth Vader in all of his paper mache glory!
We found him, among thousands of other pinatas, in a small bakery in SC
el rosal bakery

And if you happen to be at the bakery, picking out your pinata, pick up some home made tamales too!
The whole store is fabulous!

Luke's birthday guest vs Darth Vader

Hey, lookie, blogger is working again!
Thank goodness!

Here is the neighborhood gang, in order of age, lined up to hit the pinata.

The monster pinata that was larger then most of Luke's friends,
and we had to cut a hole in it to open it, since it didn't come with an opening...

And yes, the entire thing was empty and ready for candy and toys....

Takes a lot to fill it and a lot of whacking to open it!

Here they come for the candy...notice the bat choices for the pinata.
They guy we bought it from actually asked us if we needed a stick to hit it...
he didn't know us...

They did get to go thru the line up 3 times till it finally broke open...with a little help!

1st day of school! - part 2

I am still not happy at all with blogger...I had to download these pix to my desktop and then find them to put in the blog...way too time consuming and hard!
It was a very successful first week of school and we are trying to get our routine down!
Luke loves the bus and Jack loves that he now can have PE 2 days a week.
