Happy Mother's day

 This is from a very long time ago.. on my mom's 40ish birthday.

The helpers

Jack did a pretty good job trying to take out the ivy in the garden.
It was everywhere!

He had his own small shovel that worked perfectly!
and I found some small garden gloves to protect his hands...but he said they made him too sweaty.

He was quite the digger!

I am so bummed that we are going back to cooler weather for the weekend!

We've got garden

The weather has been sooooo nice....I know that it is going to be ending this weekend, but we planted last weekend!
We (Loren) moved the garden to a new sunnier spot and I think it will be fantastic.
I am hoping for peppers this year!

Luke had fun digging a big hole for their watermelon!

So far, I have 7 tomatoes, 2 zucchini, basil, 2 cucumbers and a padron with more peppers to follow when it warms up for good!
Oh and I am trying an eggplant this year...yummy grilled eggplant sandwiches....delicious! (so long as I don't kill it!)

Hopefully, I will be able to have nice august pix with lots of veges growing in the garden!
I love summer!!!

WW: watching the wood chipper.

We still have part of a tree to come down so that we can reset up the play structure.
Luke likes to see how high up he can go before I tell him to get down (or I just go inside to stop watching).
That boy certainly likes to climb!

Loren finally got a wood chipper to help with the tree when it comes down.
Yeah for craigslist!
He really likes the wood chipper and Luke like to watch it!

Spring is here

First smoothy of the season...at my house anyway.
Finally it is 80 degrees and lovely outside!

Picnic with a squirrel

When we go to the aquarium we usually then go for a picnic lunch and a little tide pooling and last time was no exception.
It was a beautiful day and thankfully didn't start raining until we headed home.

This very friendly squirrel took a liking to us and wanted to see what we brought for lunch.
I do not have a very good zoom lens on my camera so this squirrel got a bit to close for my comfort.

Luke on the other hand liked him a lot.
After I shooed him away and he went to watch us from a nice safe distance Luke went to wave bye.
