Wordless Wednesday - fearless addition

Luke went all the way to the tippy top, no problem.

Fun snack time

Snack time at the ole river...

But then there was a loud noise that disrupted the snack.
They had to see what was the source of the noise...

A train was the loud noise! Going over the train bridge!

Everyone waved to us and we waved back!

Art time

Such determination... Jack likes to cut. (he isnt particulary good at it yet, tho he is better then Luke)

I had the idea of making a collage, but with the lack of cutting skills he lost interest fairly quickly.
We keep the scraps tho and someday he will glue them on something.

It was a great magazine with pictures of a boat, water and an airplane so Jack was pretty happy.

Luke, on the other hand, got frustrated with the cutting so I gave him dried pasta to play with and he really like it,
until he started eating it.

Swing

This is the swing in the back yard. Luke is too young for it.

He tries, and scares me.

But, he sure does love to swing.

Lukily, he found it too hard to do sitting up and jumped off to swing on his belly.

Happy Labor day

See these boys eating oatmeal?
Do you know what time they woke up this morning?
6am...both of them, and they were ready to party.
Well, Luke was ready to party. Jack wanted to watch cartoons.

They know nothing of holidays and sleeping in.
I really wanted to sleep in past 6:30.

But they are good at eating oatmeal.
Jack has been chowing down these last few days which is nice to see.
Maybe some day he will fit into 3T pants...

This cat didnt help my sleeping situation as he woke me up 3 times last night.

September at the beach

September is the perfect time to go to the beach in Santa Cruz.
For the most part, the tourist are gone and the weather is at its best.
I was really surprised how un-crowded it was for the labor day weekend.
We were some of the first people there on Saturday morning around 930.

The tiny black spot in the water on the left is a dolphin.
We saw tons of dolphins and a few otters (and lots of birds)

Jack actually put his foot in the water more then once, but not much more.
We had fun collecting sea shells.

Luke had fun in the water...and collecting time outs for throwing sand...

Up, up and away

While I was making dinner, Loren prepared the balloons.
He took the string off so that they would float up and then down again and the boys could chase them.

Luke would cry really hard as his balloon went up in the air
and then when it came down and he tried to catch it he would laugh hysterically.

Then the tong came out. Luke is a very big tong fan and he loved trying to catch the balloon with them.
I am hoping his agility with the tongs will mean that he will be good with chopsticks.
