Luke and Uncle Jake

Luke adores Uncle Jake...both boys do, but Jack was not about to be inturupted during monster truck wii.
While Uncle Jake sleeps in a bit late for the boys - they woke up at 5:30am and Jake didnt get up until at least 11:30 when we got home from Jack London Square farmers market.

Luke didnt want to strike a pose, but Jake joined him in the "we are number one" pose.

Did I mention that I have been awake since 5:30am and I am so not a morning person?

Back to back

Luke was saying that he is taller then Jack...and Jack wasnt happy about it.
So we had to do a back to back test to show Luke that (for now) he is the little guy.

New shoes...finally

I have been trying (as well as grandma honey and grandpa dick)
to get Jack to approve of a new pair of shoes...or even an old
pair of 2nd hand shoes. It has been a tough battle.

I finally found these VANS at Kohl's (and spent way too much money on them)
but they fit his specifications for buckles and flames.
He wasn't totally impressed, but he has to wear them.
I have always loved VANS an have worn them since I was 14...I
really wish that they made such cool shoes in grown up sizes, cuz if they did,
Jack and I would have matching shoes!

Jacks party

We had a few of Jack's friends and family over on Sunday to celebrate his big 4.0 birthday

It was a lot of fun and very chaotic . These kids have lots of energy.


Jack was very excited for everyone to come over and started looking out the window about 7 and saying "were are my guests?" (it was a long morning for me with lots to do and boys to entertain!)

Here he is waiting for cake!  He actually wanted to have cake first, before diving into his presents.

He wanted cake with fruit (i'd have preferred chocolate) so we had vanilla cake with strawberries in the middle and it was yummy.

Then Jack got to open all of his cool presents...  Luke
was pretty much over it as the presents came around... and just wanted presents for him.  He reminded Jack quite often about sharing.                                       Thanks to everyone for a great time!! xoxox

Happy 4th Birthday Jack!

Happy Birthday to my first baby!  He didnt like that when I said that to him this morning.  "I'm not a baby" he said.  But, he really doesnt want to be four...not sure why?

Then we have a big gap in pictures...  I didnt get a digital camera till he was 2.5 so we don't have any pix of that time on our computer!

Santa Cruz after a storm

We went to the beach yesterday.  It is the same beach that we typically go to in the summer.
It is a much different place in the winter, but still very beautiful!  We have just had a series of bad storms and much debris has shown up on the beach.  Lots of people were out looking for treasures and enjoying the beautiful day.  Some where even playing the waves which seemed a bit crazy cuz it was really cold!

Tired of the rain!!

Tired of the ordeal to get out of the house... the wet weather...the gloom.
Lightning is pretty cool tho, and the snow at the tops of some mountains.

The boys really like jumping in the puddles.
And we really need the rain so I guess it isn't that bad.

So long as the power stays on!

Big strong muscles

It looks like I might be back in business for posting pix the normal way...yeah!  Except I just noticed that spell check is gone.  Yikes, and prepare for misspellings!

At our house the boys "like" to eat their vegetables so that they get big, strong muscles.  It is a great way to have them eat broccoli, carrots, peas, asparagus but after each time they eat a bite we must admire their big, strong muscles.  I even have to lean across the table and touch Lukes elbow so that he thinks im feeling his muscle.

Luke was cleaning up the other day - with much prompting- and carried this big box to trains in to his room.

I was surprised he could carry it so easily and then he had to show me his big strong muscles!

Stuck in the house

I am still really having problems with blogger...I hope they get it fix or it actually may be the end of the blog.
While I can now get pictures (i hope), it is not easy or in the order that I want!

Luke really can hold his own, but he doesnt fight fair...a bit too much biting!

I have been trying for the last few days to post on this blog...with no luck. 

I do have more pictures coming..lets see if i can even post this one with out pictures.

We are surviving the rain, barely, and are looking forward to less thunder and lightning and torental down pours...   I was very happy when the boys went back to school on Tuesday so that I could stop trying to keep them entertained with out killing eachother.  The power has been out a few time and the boys are really not thrilled when that happens.  Luke is very afraid of the dark but loves candles...I caught him leaning over the candle (on the middle of the dinner table!) just ready to catch his hair on fire.  Ugh!  I told him to never to do it again, that he could really get hurt and he said okay...and did it again.  Needless to say he now has a flashlight and is not allowed anywhere near a candle.

Rain day

We are all getting a little tired of being cooped up in the house with all of this rain (and a sick husband). We played fort, robot, jump . We played wii, blocks, cars, and monster bowling. We make a raceway on the floor...and that is all before nap time.

Looks like rain all week long...
