Last post of 2009

This post finds us all stuck at home.

Loren feeling not so hot, the boys full of energy and my mom (aka latest babysitter) under the weather as well.  We just had pizza (homemadish) for dinner, sadly a bath night that i might forget about cuz they dont look too bad.  They boys are playing monster truck (Luke badly and Jack not so bad) and Loren is playing grand theft auto in the other room.  Im looking forward to them going to bed and me watching a movie!  I am hoping to stay up till new years...but the boys waking up at 6am puts a bit of a damper on it!

Anyway,  Happy New Year to everyone!  Here's to a wonderful 2010.

Wordless Wednesday - Feeding the Ducks

We finally found a place that did not say "do not feed the ducks".

End of Dec in the SC

The nice thing about Santa Cruz is that every season is pretty.
Well, except for the rain, but even the rain can be pretty.

We took a trip to Capitola, and luckily it did not rain.
My FIL looks freezing, but he is from Spokane and shouldnt be so cold!
It made it up to 58 today!

It is always a good time to play in the sand, whether it is 80 degrees or 50.
(sometimes in the summer it is 50 degrees!)

We played till Luke decided that he had to eat the sand...again...
I am very much looking forward to him growing out of the sand/dirt/xmas light ball eating stage!

Santa Cruz harbor

Loren used to work on this ship along time ago...
He taught pirate camp in the summer in SF, among other things.

The ship is visiting Santa Cruz for a few days so we went down to check it out.

Jack is deathly afraid of boats and did not like it one bit,
but he did like the pelicans!
They sure are odd looking birds.

It was really neat to watch the store owner feeding the pelicans.
They do it twice a day and try to help them from going extinct.

Concentration

Luke has a new vocation...changing car tires!

It was amazing watching Luke dismantle this car at the age of 2.

He was really good at it and was even able to put it back together.

And then it is no more pictures for my public!

The babysitters!

Look what we have...built in babysitters! It is wonderful!
My in laws are here visiting from Spokane and we are having a
fun time with them as well as going out to dinner by ourselves!
Thankfully, I discovered restaurant.com so we are able to go out
and not quite spend a fortune!
2 thumbs up to http://www.oaktreeristorante.com/ for a wonderful meal!
Tonight we are going to try out Ciao Bella II.
We are really going to miss them when they leave!

Last Christmas post...

If I could ever figure out a way to post more then 4 pictures, easily, I would just have one
xmas post...but since I can not I have broken it down to 3 posts...
Boys enjoying the new easel!

Luke entertaining Monnie and Mom.

Jack eyeing the deserts!
Everything was delish!

Uncle Bill got a fun helicopter that all the big boys played with!
Luke turned out to be really good at "catching" it!

Jack xmas morn

Jack was very, very into presents this Christmas.

It was all about how many presents and not as much into how very cool they are.

We all really, really love the Wii we got!
Totally rocks and as I type, Jack is playing monster truck.
Last night me and grandpa ron did 9 holes of golf!

And not to be forgotten the 8 million cars!

Guess what he is looking for...

A christmas skateboard from Santa!

And he is pretty good at it!

I only let him stand on it on the carpet so far.
Lukily when you are little the ground isnt that far away!

Christmas in the Park

We took a very fun visit to downtown San Jose to see Christmas in the Park.

Sadly, Jack wasnt thrilled that is wasnt a "real" park.

But, they still had fun looking at all of the cool decorations, especially the ones that moved.

Salad spinner fun

It is amazing how much Luke loves to play with the salad spinner.

He puts all the letters from the frig and spins away.

He needs a little help, but usually gets the lid on by himself so we get more of a reprieve.

and then he gets tired of me taking pictures!
